The 63rd Board Meeting (Account Session) of the North West Livestock Development Fund (CDENO) has ended in Bamenda with the adoption of the institution's 2025 administrative and management accounts, reflecting what officials described as a year of remarkable achievements despite prevailing challenges.

The meeting, chaired under the supervision of representatives of the government and attended by board members, reviewed the implementation of resolutions from the previous session, examined financial and administrative reports, and assessed the institution's overall performance during the 2025 financial year.

Representing the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, the Governor of the North West Region, H.E. Adolf Lele L'Afrique, commended CDENO's management for what he described as a satisfactory execution of its mandate and prudent management of public resources.

"The administrative account was adopted by all members of the Board," the Governor stated, noting that the institution's performance had earned recognition from government authorities. He revealed that the Minister of Public Contracts had addressed a congratulatory letter to CDENO's management in appreciation of its handling of public contracts and project implementation during the past financial year.

According to the Governor, the endorsement by board members and the commendation from the Ministry of Public Contracts serve as evidence of confidence in the institution's management.

He urged CDENO to maintain the same level of commitment, transparency and accountability in the execution of future projects while continuing to prioritize the interests of livestock farmers and the wider population.

H.E. Adolf Lele L'Afrique further praised the institution's contribution to improving livelihoods in the North West Region through government-supported programmes and interventions targeting farmers and grazers.

He noted that many beneficiaries had received support through livestock development initiatives and expressed optimism that ongoing projects would further strengthen agricultural production, food supply and economic opportunities within the region and beyond.

Speaking after the meeting, the Director of CDENO, Mbah Shupong Michael, described the session as successful and highlighted the institution's impressive operational achievements during the 2025 financial year.

According to the Director, CDENO attained a physical and financial realization rate of 98.12 percent, a performance that reflects effective implementation of planned activities.

Among the key achievements presented to the Board were the production of more than 204,000 doses of animal health products and the vaccination of livestock across the North West and West Regions. These interventions, he said, played a significant role in supporting livestock farmers and improving animal health within the sector.

Mbah Shupong Michael expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the session, noting that all reports presented to the Board including the administrative accounts, management accounts, financial controller's report and financial statements were thoroughly examined and subsequently adopted.

"We are very happy that the Board validated all the reports presented," he said, adding that the institution remains committed to sustaining its performance and delivering services that respond to the needs of livestock producers.

The board meeting also reviewed the state of CDENO's equipment, materials and infrastructure, signed the reconciliatory statement between management and administrative accounts, and discussed additional proposals aimed at strengthening the institution's operations.

The adoption of the 2025 accounts marks another milestone for CDENO as it continues efforts to promote livestock development, support farmers and contribute to economic growth in the North West Region and Cameroon as a whole.
