NWRA Opens June 2025 Ordinary Session with Focus on 2026 Budget Orientation

The North West Regional Assembly (NWRA) has kicked off its June 2025 Ordinary Session, themed "2025 Budget Orientation Debate of the First Semester 2025". The session, which runs from July 14th to 16th, 2025, is expected to chart a course for the region's development.

During the opening, Prof. Fru Angwafo, President of the NWRA, highlighted the assembly's efforts to address water and energy problems in rural areas. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in project development and the need for sustainable solutions.

The governor of the North West Region, HE Adolf Lele LAfrique, stressed the importance of collaboration between local authorities, the state, and the population in driving development. He also recalled the role of the assembly in promoting local development.
The session comes on the heels of two significant events: the Prime Minister's working visit to the region on July 4, 2025, and the historic North West Economic Forum, held from July 12th to 13th, 2025. The forum, which brought together stakeholders to discuss economic development, was hailed with over 1,000 stakeholders in attendance.

The Ndu Council, led by Mayor Abdul Kanfon, was recognized for its outstanding performance in the recent clean city competition, where it emerged 7th out of 364 councils worldwide. The council received a 40 million Frs check for its achievement. During the opening of this June session, he presented the check before the general assembly highlighting the efforts the council has put in place to ensure the cleanliness of villages within Ndu municipality.
The NWRA's June 2025 Ordinary Session is expected to be a crucial platform for discussing the region's development priorities and charting a course for a brighter future.
