THE CENTRE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEMOCRACY IN AFRICA (CHRDA) TRAINED 100 CIVIL SOCIETY REPRESENTATIVES ON MONITORING, DOCUMENTING AND REPORTING HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN CAMEROON.

A one day workshop at the Regional Head office of CHRDA in Bamenda on 29th February 2020, saw the attendance of over 100 civil society representatives all over the North West Regions of Cameroon. The North West Region being one of the regions of Cameroon plague with crisis that records human rights violations at all level prompted a need for such training. The trainees were drilled on Monitoring, documenting and reporting human rights violations in the country. Coming at a time of numerous human rights violations noticed in most parts of the country especially in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. A briefing attended by media practitioners in the region also so the participants of some Government representatives as well as the civil society organisations. Mr Ferdinant M. Sonyuy President and CEO Of RADA emphatically talk on the need for the civil society as well as Government to step means to fight the risk factors of these NCDs which have no particular cause but a regulation of risk factors of NCDs could help reduce the NCDs cases. It should be noted that about 35% of annual deaths recorded in Cameroon result from NCDs.
