Bamenda City Council Mayor Achobong Paul provides Solutions to End the Bikers Strike In Bamenda.




The Bike riders strick that saw the 16th and 17th April transportation difficulties in Bamenda as Commercial Bikers park their Motor cycles and protested in the major streets of Bamenda following the bike seizure campaign by Security forces seizing most motor bikes without some documents. These bikers demanded that the motor cycles seized by given back and taking a strike action against the seizure of their bikes.  The City Mayor of the Bamenda City Council Mr Achombong Paul intervained and called on the Bikers to call off the strike while looking for a remedy to their demands. He had series of meetings with some of these Bikers from Bamenda I, II and III, in which he instructed them to Organise elections into the Municipal, Subdivisional and at the level each Bikers Park or junction. 
These execucative of the Bikers union were officially installed to their functions on 27th April 2020. On this occasion he called on them to respect the Security Forces as well as calling on the representative of the Military at the event to do likewise. He stressed on the fact that Bikers fall vitim given the context of the current crisis whenever Seperatist Fighters launch an attack the military on retaliation arrest or target any Motor bike around the scene given most of these arm men used bikes for their operations. He called on them to get them selves identified in order not distinguish themselves from Arm men that used bikes for operation. Municipal ,  Subdivisional and Park Bikers Union Presidents, vice, and other committee members were fully installed into their functions .  About the close to 500 Motor Cycles seize by the military will be refunded in the days ahead.
